Behavior & Expectations
Here at Punch Gymnastics, children are expected to follow the rules set forth to keep them safe. Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated (eg. foul language, obscene gestures, bullying etc.). To ensure the safety of every child in the gym, we have a three-strike policy.
Children will first be given a polite verbal warning to make them aware of their behavior. A notification to the parents will be given so they too are aware of their behavior. If no improvements are made, a second warning will be given, along with a 5 minute “reflection/cooling off” period. At this point, you will then be given a 24-hour time frame to schedule a required parent meeting with the owner. On the third strike, the child will be put on probation and will have 30 days to make the necessary change. If after the 30 days, no improvements are made, you will respectfully be asked to remove yourself from our program There are no refunds or credits given for days missed due to inappropriate behavior.
There is a no tolerance policy for children who are caught hitting other children. If hitting becomes a problem with your child, you will be dismissed from our program entirely with no refund. All children must keep their hands to themselves. All children are expected to be polite and friendly to the other children and PG staff. 4. In the events that a child vandalizes, or destroys equipment, parents are responsible for the damages caused.
Punch Gymnastics is a refined institute where proper attire is required. Girls may wear leotards with, or without workout shorts and bare feet. Micro mini bikers are allowed however longer bike shorts make bars difficult for spotting and is not advised. Male gymnasts may wear comfortable play clothes without buttons or zippers and bare feet.
Hair should always be pulled neatly and securely away from the face so that is stays up for the entire workout. Girls should not wear large bows, dangle jewelry, or any other large hair ornaments that may cause discomfort during activity. All students should not wear any type of shoes in the gym during practice. Personal items should be left in their cubbies that we provide. Jewelry should not be worn during classes. PLEASE LEAVE JEWELRY ARTICLES AT HOME. This facility’s staff will not be responsible for ANY items that may be lost or stolen. It might be a good idea to mark your student’s personal items with their full name so if found, it can be put in the lost & found.
Food & Drink Policy
There is NO CHEWING GUM, FOOD, OR DRINKS OF ANY KIND ARE ALLOWED ON THE FLOOR. Although there will be water offered to the kids during practice, we also sell water that you can purchase from the front desk. Otherwise, we encourage you to bring your own water bottle to practice.
Unless you are participating in a Zumbini, or Baby & Me class, parents are not allowed on the floor. We ask this in order to keep everone safe and also to keep parent coaching that would interrupt the learning process out of class. For your safety and the safety of our athletes, we ask that all parents, toddlers and siblings remain in the provided seating areas. All of our coaches are required to take various exams from USA Gymnastics Credentialing in addition to their coaching experience. We respectfully ask that parents leave the coaching to the professionals and trust that we have your child’s ultimate safety in mind at all times. If you have a question regarding a coaches technique or teaching style, please schedule a private meeting with your coach, or the owner outside of regular class time. We know it can be difficult to keep siblings entertained, so we have provided a play room with books, and toys for children who are not participating in a class.
